"Proper breathing improves your cardio-respiratory efficiency."

Use Breathe Right® nasal strips while you exercise to breathe easier with less energy. Breathing properly during exertion helps reduce your heart rate, improve your cardio-respiratory efficiency and can boost your performance.

Practice proper breathing BEFORE working out

  • Sit straight in a firm chair with your fingertips gently resting on your stomach.
  • Inhale deeply through your nostrils. Feel your abdomen expand. Your diaphragm and chest should rise as your lungs expand with air.
  • Once your lungs are filled with air, exhale deeply by relaxing your chest and diaphragm, and pulling your stomach toward your spine.
  • Repeat the pattern, noticing how the air moves in and out of your body.

Apply a Breathe Right nasal strip 30 minutes BEFORE a workout to maximize adhesion when perspiring. If the strip loosens due to perspiration, use an astringent or rubbing alcohol to clean the surface of your nose before the next application.

During your pre-workout stretch, breathe deeply and fully to help oxygenate your blood in preparation for exertion.

Maintain a rhythmic cycle of inhalation and exhalation during exercise to avoid hyperventilating, which robs the body of oxygen. Your body's need for oxygen will increase as you exercise, causing the number of breaths you take per minute to increase naturally. But you can maintain control of your breathing.

If you tend to breathe through your mouth when exercising, wear a Breathe Right nasal strip. When exercising, breathing through your nose is more energy efficient. After exercising, your breathing will continue at an increased rate to help your body restore the oxygen lost. Allow yourself to breathe deeply and fully during a post-workout stretch to help your body recuperate.

If you have asthma or any other condition that affects your breathing, play it safe. Talk to your doctor before exercising.
